WHICH HALF OF YOUR LIFE ARE YOU LIVING?

A Site-Specific Installation for Janimation on the theme of the center of life.

4 mirrors demarcated with "lifelines"; a 'half-way temptation' in the form of a grossgrain ribbon and gold shears affording the opportunity to make a cut that defines existence; a looped presentation of the film "Starting at the End of the Line" co-produced by Janimation & ARF+Co.

The center of a person's physical existence can be calculated mathematically with the birth time and death time of a human life. Philosophically the half way point of a person's life is more elusive. Experience marks lives in various ways. A child may be far beyond the halfway point of its parents. An elderly person- close to the end of their "mathematical" second half may not have crossed the philosophical halfway point.

Ritual and rite of passage marks the human journey. What coordinates have been passed through? Where are you on your path? Can you stay in the center? Move between the two sides of your life? Look in the mirror as you speed by it.
